The mahogany case house a superb crystal humidor container with stopper, the container stopper is marked on the bottom Benson & Hedges, Pat. 26, 08 (for 1908) and etched in the glass G1366, this etched number is also etched on the bottom of the container. This unusual piece provides an elegant home for large quantities of cigars or other tobacco products. This is indeed a premium humidor there is no key thought a locksmith could probably provide one. Benson & Hedges was founded in London in 1873 by Richard Benson and William Hedges as Benson and Hedges Ltd. Alfred Paget Hedges succeeded his father in the business in 1885, the same year which Richard Benson left the business. In 1900 Benson & Hedges Ltd. Opened branches in the United States and Canada.
