An exceptional Yellow Ware Figural Humidor, Continental, Austrian, possibly English, 19th Century heavily-detailed box features framed bird theme motifs on each side and also a lion king crest. A resting Greyhound-type canine sits atop the fitted lid, providing an oversized handle/finial. Superb details and accents throughout. Stamped in the base “HH 80″ Or “HB 80″(see close-up). Condition: There is general, age-appropriate wear, crazing & discoloration on the glaze surface throughout. Several small nicks and small chips as well as a few hairline cracks. Remnants of original gold gilding are visible in areas. The gilding was likely only used for accenting the areas of highest relief. Although the above is noted for complete accuracy; this Humidor displays beautifully and will feature prominently in any collection. See photos for complete details and consider them as part of the description. Item may need some cleaning. I left it as found. Measures approximately 5-5/8″L x 4-3/4″W x 5-1/4H overall.

This extraordinary hand-crafted 19th century sheet brass box in the Moorish gothic style appears to combine tobacco and betel storage and measures4″ tall (5 1/2″ with bail handle) x 8″ x 5″ overall. The decoration features chased openwork sheet brass appliques and the hardware is handmade. Inside the lift-out tray has two covered compartment with pierced hinged lids and the lid appears designed to hold thin wood panels for moisture protection. The box has its lock intact (no key) and the hinges work nicely. You will note scattered expected dings and dents and old polish residue in the details. This Beautiful Thuya Burl Wood Pipe Stand and Humidor. On a tall pedestal foot that has a raised rim to hold the pipe stem. Hand-made in French Morocco of carved and Polished Thuya Burl Wood. The upper container has an applied threaded rim below the lid. This threaded rim has a old professional repair and threads to the tobacco bowl. The outer rim can hold 18 long stem delft pipes. And the upper Humidor holds the loose tobacco. Thuya is a rare, shrubby conifer, indigenous to southern Morocco. The bottom is embossed/stamped in French with. EN BOIS DE THUYA. Total Weight of Humidor. Note: The delft pipes photographed with this pipe stand are Not included in this sale. (the delft pipes can be ordered from Holland). Condition: This Thuya wood pipe stand is in fine pre-owned condition with age-related wear such as a light patina to the wood, minor crack to a pipe hole, chip to wood at top near finial, and signs of a break and repair to the threaded ring. Antique Continental Inlaid Wooden Box – Europe – 19th Century. Probably dating from the later part of the 19th Century, a beautifully inlaid wooden tobacco? Each of the 24 panels are a work of art, with detailed marquetry inlay, depicting scenes of rural life, including peasants making pasta. Separate lid is well fitting. There is a lock keyhole on the side (no key) and box is unlocked. Interior shows openings for cigarettes or cigars, with a central container that can be raised for holding loose tobacco? Interior of lid is lined with rich, blue velvet, apparently original to the piece. Old cracks, chips and losses throughout. Please examine photos carefully for condition. An unusual dog box / cigar box holder – possibly Conta & Boehm but definitely a European maker. Great detail and color throughout with a very expressive face to dog. Unmarked anywhere the lid has two chips to underside interior lip (see photos). Ill add a photo of interior as it was blurry when I tried to load – interior has factory separations to the walls where it meets the base (fired that way over 100 years ago). Cigar box measures 8 1/4 long by 4 1/2 inches wide at base and stands 5 1/2 inches tall. Dates to about 1840 or 1850 era – a stunner!! Wonderful late 1800s hand carved Swiss Black Forest cigar chest with hinged lid and swing-away sides, holds 46 cigars. The bottom has a drawer, as well. The old original lock has its key and does work to lock away cigars. A bold big and really beautifully carved pair of fan tail pheasants up top, for a hunt and Animalier theme. The chest is nice-sized and surprisingly will hold a large number of cigars. Measurements noted on the photos. Cigar length for closed casket can be up to 4 1/2″ long, smallish and holes are 5/8″ in diameter or slightly less. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, late 1800s and likely a Grand Tour souvenir. Very nicely preserved carvings, no losses on the birds other than a narrow shaving-like chip to one wing. The box, itself, should have had, or once did have feet. You can see that looking at it from bottom. There is a slight rise to the very far right of the lid, when closed, but you really must be looking directly on to see it. There is a drawer at the base and it has an abbreviated nob, perhaps chipped from original but it is still there and it works. A little looseness at joints but solid and seems just a factor of age. Beautifully carved and a serpentine form carved in a nice way. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important! Our fine inventory is very important.
