ST CLEMENT c1900 French Faience MEDOR Dog LARGE Humidor Tobacco Jar Box 465. MAKER: St Clement, France, Circa late 19th to early 20th century. PIECE NAME: Medor Figural Dog Tobacco Humidor. DIMENSIONS: 5 1/4″ tall, 4″ across base – around 6 long from back of head to tip of nose. When you remove the lid though you’ll see someone has broken and glued the interior back together. PIECE NAME: Fidele Figural Dog Tobacco Humidor – this seems to be rarer than the more commonly seen (though not common), Medor Humidor. DIMENSIONS: 5″ tall, 3 1/2″ across base – around 5 1/4 long from back of head to tip of nose. An interesting Edwardian Cigar box/dispenser made in Oak with Brass Hinges, Decorations, Handle and Cutter. Made in the shape of a coal box with the shovel on the back forming the cutter. Inside the lid is a striker plate to strike the matces on and on the top a small removable tray either for ash or more likely for the matches. Cigars of up to length 12cm can be fitted inside. The amount you can fit in would depend on the size, 100 Hamlets or 25 Henri Winterman 1/2 Coronas aproximately. (Cigars pictured are not included). The overall size is 17cm tall (with the handle).
