This is a beautiful humidor in very good condition. I have not cleaned it… I know very little about these types of antiques so I will leave it to the new owner. The letters in “Cigars” look a bit faded and at first glance I thought it had hairline cracks (where the light brown lines are) but it doesn’t… It’s just the pattern.

Antique Oak Cigar Humidor Box – Brass Serpent Motifs – Art Nouveau Influence – 13 Offered here is a striking antique oak cigar humidor featuring bold applied brass serpent decorations and an ornate flowing escutcheon plate. The elongated rectangular form measures. 13″ long. 4″ deep. 2.75 high Crafted from solid oak with beautiful linear grain throughout, this humidor has a strong Arts & Crafts presence with clear Art Nouveau styling in the hardware. The lid is decorated with sculptural brass serpents in relief – a dramatic and uncommon design element. The front features an elaborate, organic-form brass escutcheon surrounding the keyhole. The interior is fully oak-lined, retaining its original natural wood surface. No modern lining has been added. The underside of the lid shows age wear and adhesive residue from what may have once been a lining or humidification element. Condition: Displays honest antique wear including surface marks, light scratches, and age patina to the brass hardware. Locking mechanism present; key included. Structurally solid with tight joints. A vintage bronze (or copper) humidor box. In overall good or better condition. Does have some tarnishing overall and some finish wear. There is no medium in the lid to hold moisture. No apparent makers mark. Measures about 6 by 10″ and is about 3″ tall. Has a nice art nouveau styling.
