Please take a moment to read the description, condition and browse the photos. A very well crafted 19thC. With chased design in florals and figures in tavern scenes throughout. The lid opens as it should to reveal the wood lined base interior. The base is marked with hallmarks “EGW&S” to bottom. It sit’s upon four fancy pad feet. Measures; 6 1/4″ long x 4 1/2″ deep x 3 1/2 tall. There is some wear to silverplate mostly to high points on figures, I see no other wear. Box polished right up, overall very good condition, no dings or unsightly marks etc. Please view all photographs as they are part of the description. There is no inscriptions, marker marks or hallmarks. The lid is in good condition. The burl veneer features signs of wear and damages on the down corners, please see photo 8. Width: 22.25 cm / 8.75. This silver box is an elegant, hallmarked vintage silver on copper cigar / cigarette humidor box with a cedar lining made by Friedrich Silver Co. Of Brooklyn, NY most likely in the 1930s. It features a unique design with a rearing lion / griffen engraved on the top of the lid and has four ball feet. The lid hangs over the box, making it easy to lift. Them box’s shows design adds to its value and aesthetic appeal an dit shows well. The hinges work well. This is a great collectable. The box weights 321 grams, so is of substantial weight. The Friedman Silver Co of Brooklyn, New York was established by Joseph Friedman in 1908, and in 1960 was acquired by Gorham. Exterior 5.25″ Long x 3.75″ Deep 1.25 Tall. Interior 5″ Long x 3″W Deep with a cedar wood liner.

Gorgeous and unique, this box is oval, the lid lifts up and holds a round mirror (more likely held an ashtray previously). The bottom half has built in spots for perhaps tobacco, ashtray, cutter, matches and cigar. The lid has engraved garland and bow with the monogram “CMS”. The bottom has 4 ball feet. This box is so much lovelier in person than in pictures as it’s still very shiny. I’ This box is perfect for use on your desk, in office, bar top, etc. Measurements: approx 8 1/4″ long x 6 1/2″ wide x 3 1/2 tall. Marks: Colonial Silver Co Quadruple Plate Portland Me 1360. This inkwell is in good antique condition. May have typical signs of vintage use such as slight surface scratches, plating wear, more near the etchings (not obvious at all, looks way better in person than in pictures).
