Antique 19th century Victorian wooden cigar caddy or cigar presenter box. Free standing table top cabinet form. Sarcophagus styling to the top. Centered by ornate metal cartouches, the side hinges with stylized foliate decoration. Resting on four knob feet. Cabinet measures 11 3/8″ height x 8 1/8″ width x 7 1/2 deep. Opening to reveal eight sliding drawers with metal knobs. The carved grooved slots are capable of holding up to 6 cigars per drawer. The carved slots measure 5 1/4″ length x 13/16″ width. Will easily hold cigarillos and cigars with a cepo of 40 gauge with a 5 1/8 maximum length. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. Antique Victorian Era Oak Cigar Presenter or Tobacco Box, a Dog House w/ Dog. Delightful & rare antique Victorian era solid oak cigar presenter or tobacco box in the form of a dog house with bronze patinated dog figure and engraved & reticulated brass accenting! Isn’t this one fabulous! Not actually a humidor but it would fall into that category surely. The interior holds the original removable fixture that has a horizontal finished & brass tack accented wood panel at the top, pierced with circular holes where cigars are inserted vertically until desired. Attention to detail is amazing here, if you look closely you see that even the brass lock plate and hinges have engraved decoration. The exterior as charming as can be, a doghouse in solid carved oak with an aged patina. Brass tacks and those lovely reticulated brass accents with a subtle neo-gothic styling. The dog figure also wonderful, only partially protruding from the front door, leashed or chained to the old, original and working skeleton key. There is an old repaired break to the lock side overhang of the roof panel, very well done and hidden in the incised groove but you can still see that it’s there. Some signs of its age but, as you can see, beautifully preserved. Original hinges, lock and the old skeleton key. See pictures for all measurements. Antique Victorian Wood Cigar Cabinet Table Top Display Box, Hidden Match Striker
Antique 19th century Victorian wooden cigar caddy or cigar presenter box. Free standing table top cabinet form. Sarcophagus styling to the top. Centered by ornate metal cartouches, the side hinges with stylized foliate decoration. Lovely unique feature to the top of the cabinet is a hidden match holder and striker. Resting on four knob feet. Retains a working lock and key. Turning the key twice will also lock the bottom drawer. Cabinet measures 13 1/4″ height x 9 1/2″ width x 8 1/4 deep. Opening to reveal seven sliding drawers with metal knobs. The carved grooved slots are capable of holding up to 7 cigars per drawer. The carved slots measure 5 3/4″ length x 13/16″ width. Will easily hold cigarillos and cigars with a cepo of 43 or 44 gauge with a 5 1/4 maximum length. Examples we’ve tried are a corona, petite corona, and a panetela that fitted within the slots. In overall good antique condition with general wear and a couple of edge corner nicks in the wood commensurate with age and use. Visible on the back of the cabinet are two age cracks in the wood.
