Antique 19th Century Victorian Period. Tiger Oak & Brass Mount. A wonderful desk top cigar smokers cabinet constructed in the manner of a safe in beautifully grained Tiger Oak with ebony string highlights and English Royal crests to doors. Brass mounts and handles, the brass lock cover slides open to reveal a fully operational lock with key. The twin doors open to reveal a fully fitted interior again with brass mount handles consisting of three draws one large below two small cigar storage, additional jar compartment to right. The right inner door with vesta compartment. The cabinet is in beautiful condition. Tiger oak is more expensive than normal oak as it is taken from better wood and cut at such an angle to produce the tiger stripe effect therefor being used on the finest quality furniture. Dimensions: 9 3/4″(24.8cm) wide by 9 1/4″ (23.5cm) high by 7 1/16(18cm) deep. Dont miss out on this superb piece of history to use or as a wonderful collectors item. Magnificent Large Antique English Walnut Cigar Cabinet / Box / Humidor c. 1890

A superb large cigar cabinet with lovely arched glazed doors retaining the original bevelled glass. Made from the most stunning Burl Walnut timber, with a gorgeous grain and a warm, rich toffee colour. With polished brass swing handles to either side. The fronts of the three drawers have pairs of matching brass swing handles which create an attractive show through the glass. The interior of the drawers is lined in Cedar wood which is what kept cigars fresh; this is not officially a Humidor as these are modern inventions to regulate the humidity within; it is the Cedar lining that did this job well over 100 years ago. Each of the drawers has an adjustable / removable divider to customise the interior’s configuration. The cabinet comes complete with a working key.. A stunning box in excellent condition dating to c. A good size with a footprint measuring 11 3/4″ x 8 1/2″ and standing 11 1/2 tall.
