Antique 19th Century Brass Engraved, Lined, Humidor/Pipe/Tobacco/Cigar Box -RARE FIND. This antique humidor, tobacco related or other storage box is a fine work of craftsmanship and is a very rare find. The age is based on research which information is very limited. Brass/Copper covered box, reinforced riveted corners with engravings on four areas. There is a latch on the front that would accept a padlock. The top cover with beveled edges, has an engraving of a man smoking a very long pipe. The front side has an engraved scene also related to pipes and tobacco. The side ends have the same engraved scene of books, literature and a pipe. The inside is lined with silver tin or other base metal. The bottom is wood, as other parts may be wood as well beneath the brass covering. Measures 10-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ x 3-1/2 Tall Weight: 3lbs, 5 oz. The box is in very good condition, has an aged patina which could probably be polished to really shine if desired. The inside cover has some traces of red paint. See all photos for more details.
