An exceptional Yellow Ware Figural Humidor, Continental, Austrian, possibly English, 19th Century heavily-detailed box features framed bird theme motifs on each side and also a lion king crest. A resting Greyhound-type canine sits atop the fitted lid, providing an oversized handle/finial. Superb details and accents throughout. Stamped in the base “HH 80″ Or “HB 80″(see close-up). Condition: There is general, age-appropriate wear, crazing & discoloration on the glaze surface throughout. Several small nicks and small chips as well as a few hairline cracks. Remnants of original gold gilding are visible in areas. The gilding was likely only used for accenting the areas of highest relief. Although the above is noted for complete accuracy; this Humidor displays beautifully and will feature prominently in any collection.
