The Cedar lined with Brass box has etched designs on the top & on three of the 4 sides (front, left & right sides). The interior and bottom is made of wood. The top etching depicts a Sir Walter Raleigh type fellow with a 17th century-style pipe. On either side of him, is a chair & hearth. The front etching shows a fireplace mantle decorated with a lock box, ale tankard, plate & 4 different types of pipes. The left and right sides are books & a smoking pipe. Grammes & Sons out of Allentown, PA began in 1875 and is known to have lasted almost a century. They made a wide variety of metal products as well as box-making saws & tools.
