BEAUTIFUL LARGE SILVER ANTIQUE CIGAR BOX. This is a magnificent early 20th-century (1908) sterling silver large cigar box, or can be used as a trinket storage box. Elegant plain finish, with spreading walls and a high domed lid. Raised on four bracket feet. Cedar wood lined interior, in clean condition. The lid closes flush with the body, without leaving any gap. Fully hallmarked on the lid and the body. It is free from inscriptions or monograms. The base measures 9″ x 5 1/2″ approximately. The underside is lined with a real wood panel. HALLMARKS: Chester, STERLING fineness 92.5%. MAKER George Unite & Sons. DIMENSION: 22.5cm x 13.8cm (9″ x 5 1/2″). Height: 7cm (2 3/4) approx. Antique Early Edwardian Period. Tiger Oak Brass Bound. A stunning late Victorian to early Edwardian period desk top campaign style cigar smokers cabinet constructed in beautifully grained English tiger oak with brass inlay cartouche to lid and protect sides and corners. The lid opens to reveal a fully fitted interior consisting of six compartments with movable separators for different size cigar storage finished. In stunning condition minus key. Dimensions: 17″(43.2cm) wide by 1 1 1/4″ (28.5cm) high by 4 1/4(10.8cm) deep. Tiger oak is more expensive than normal oak as it is taken from better wood and cut at such an angle to produce the tiger stripe effect therefor being used on the finest quality furniture. Antique Patent Dec 22, 1908 Humidor Tiger Oak Marble / or White Milk Glass? And some sort of Clay on top section. 11″ x 7 1/2″ x 5. Humidor is made of oak, then has another layer of a different kind of wood then has white milk glass or marble. Top/ lid has a clay type material as seen in pictures. Really well made and appears it should keep cigar really fresh. Has patent date under the lid on box. Good condition with normal wear with age, scuffs, scratches, and discoloration to the front from use and age. Key is wrong one but will lock the box, but will not unlock, So don’t lock it. May need locksmith / correct key?? Lock mechanism should work with correct key. Left screw is also stripped on the lock but is there and original to the box. Missing two feet which could easily be replaced or remove the old ones, not really needed.
