Antique ornate silver plate brass Dutch figural dresser cigar humidor vanity or jewelry box. For sale is a nice high quality antique late 19th century figural cigar / jewlery box. It’s done with very elaborate detailing, made of a silver plated brass, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. The box has an exquisite figural scene depicted on every panel in high relief and is very intricate design. It’s lined with velvet fabric lining and footed with circular legs. In nice antique condition and measures 7 5/8 inches long by 3 3/8 inches tall by 5 1/2inches wide. Please see pictures for details. This item dates from the 1890’s to the 1920’s and is the heavy bronze metal cigar holder. I don’t see a place for a moistener, so I think it was just a box to hold the cigars. The rack inside has the openings of 5/8 which would be the size of the cigars. This rare item measures overall 7-1/2′ wide across the handles and is 9-1/2 tall. Good condition, I see no damage or issues. There are no marks or numbers that I see, but a great design overall with a lot of details. But in 1910 it was undoubtedly used for tobacco. Created by the E F Caldwell Co of New York, this silver on bronze box is very heavy and we’ll constructed. Measures 4″ x 7″ x 2 tall. Lid holds a screened piece that contains a sponge to keep your stash from drying out! Fantastic old piece from one of the greatest bronze works in New York City. Antique Wind Up Music Box 2 Airs 1882 Cigar Humidor Hinged Box Silver Decoration. Measures 6 1/2″ x 9 7/8″ and 5 1/2 high closed. It is a footed box which is rather unique – 2 ball feet in the front and 2 peg feet in the back, it sits nicely level. The top silver decoration Art Nouveau cigar leaf with word cigars looks like it might be sterling but I could not find a silver mark. The bottom base wood panel has a crack. The box is complete other than the key for the lock which we do not have. There is an old paper label on the bottom that I can read “2 airs” but not much else can be seen clearly. The wood finish and the magnificent silver top Cigars decoration have a nice aged patina. Please see my 12 photos. Guaranteed a genuine antique late 19th century musical humidor box.
