Tiger Oak & Brass Mount. A wonderful desk top cigar smokers cabinet constructed in beautifully grained Tiger Oak with intricate carved oak leaves and oak apples to doors. Brass mounts and handles, the brass shield cartouce to top is not engraved so could be personalized to make a wonderful gift. The twin doors open to reveal a fully fitted interior again with brass mount handles consisting of two draws for cigar storage. Tiger oak is more expensive than normal oak as it is taken from better wood and cut at such an angle to produce the tiger stripe effect therefor being used on the finest quality furniture. Dimensions: 10 1/2″(26.6cm) wide by 7 1/2″ (19cm) high by 7 1/2(19cm) deep. The cabinet is in beautiful condition, the lock is intact however alas no key. Fabulous antique 19th century Black Forest hand carved wood tobacco humidor. Decorated with finely carved whimsical farm scene, portraying a fully dimensional figure of a rooster standing on an upturned barrel. Meant to store cigars or tobacco, the humidor is carved in the form of a large lidded barrel. Ideal to use as a fantastic decorative accessory, a desk caddy in the office for example. The rooster motif is perfect to incorporate into French country or farm house decor. Measures 8 1/2″ tall x 7 1/4″ wide. In overall good antique condition with wear from age and use. Antique Hand Painted Wood Humidor with Porcelain Lined Lid. Box for Cigars Tobacco Tea. Here is a very beautiful wooden box most likely intended for humidor, since the lid is lined with porcelain. Very dark, almost black wood finish with hand painted oval cartouche to the top. Manly design for a sophisticated gentleman. Probably used for tobacco or cigars but tea is also an option. Metal hinges and a lock, but unfortunately the key is missing. Sturdy and in great usable shape. Early/Mid 1800’s, Anglo- American. That has dovetail joint construction. The front of the box has a lock, but I don’t have the key for it. I believe it was made in United States, sometime in 19th century or earlier. Antique French Cigar Chest, Presentation Box, Fitted Shelves, Napoleon III, Victorian. All items and photos are the express property of Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. Gorgeous cigar tantalus from Napoleon III era c. 1850-70 or mid-Victorian era. This French made chest is fitted with cigar-mount pull-out shelves enough to hold 36 full-sized cigars. Beautifully crafted, but not in pristine condition at this time, it’s a bargain and really does present nicely in spite of a few flaws. I’ve marked those with “x” on our photos for your review. The photographer shows it with 2 keys inside, but just one will fit and only one key will be sent out with the box. The top and front both hinge up and down to open for use. Measurements noted on the photos. Good condition for age and type. The box has a beautiful boulle worked brass and mother of pearl cartouche, set in accents of black and brown woods. An engraved monogram that looks to me to be “T S” in set therein. The burl walnut veneer is accented by 2 other wood grain veneers on the top of the box, and accented by contrasting stringing. A pencil-edging in wood finished the edging beautifully to that slightly convex lid. There is a little disruption around the escutcheon (key hole) as visible in our images, and there is a section of missing veneer on bottom of one side – marked for your review. Slight imperfections otherwise, signs of age, noted in the photos. There are 3 shelves that have a hairline, or break. All function fine as you see them. This is not a pristine example, but priced accordingly. There is an engraved signature on the lockplate, but I can’t read it. Overall, even with a few flaws, a really beautiful old treasure!
