1928 RARE Rockwell Kent Sally Art Deco Cigar Box. The outside of the box is brass and the inside is lined with wood. The image on the front is attributed ti Rockwell Kent, a famous artist, print maker and writer, 1882 1971. The image depicts Sally (Sally Kent Gorton) his wife and widow. The image was designed in 1928 for an A. Spalding & Brothers magazine advertisement. Epicts Sally (Sally Kent Gorton) his wife and widow. There are very few of this particular box available. Rockwell Kent had the image etched in the lids of some brass boxes and gave them out as gifts to friends and business associates. This particular box has been well cared for. The inside of the is clean and in very good condition. The brass on the outside has developed a nice patina and has other signs of normal age. The lid is also still very well attached with a good working hinge. It is about 2 5/8 inches by 5.5 inches by 7 1/8 inches. The box is marked A. Up for sale is a very rare antique signed Dunhill porcelain and wooden tobacco humidor/jar. It’s made in a square box style format with 4 hand painted inlaid panels. The porcelain panels are done with a realistic approach and rich color depicting intricate bird scenes. It has a carved wooden spring loaded lid that turns to lock tightly into place when not being opened. When the lid is removed it exposes the metal lining that has some slight paint loss. It’s signed on the bottom by Dunhill and measures 7 1/4 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches long. In very nice used condition. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. Please make sure to look at all pictures very closely before purchasing, as most pieces in my shop are non refundable. Most items are antique or vintage and could have usual ware from age. Vintage Partagas 150 Don Ramon Book Humidor #86 of 1000. In 1995, General Cigar Co. Released the Partagas 150 Signature Series to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Partagas brand in Cuba. The Partagas 150 Signature cigar used a very special 1977 vintage 18 year old Cameroon wrapper. They instantly became acquired by collectors and were hailed as the first cigar that could compete with the most famous and legendary Cubans. The Don Ramon: 7 x 52 Churchill, was the rarest of the 150 Series with only 10,000 cigars produced. Each special cigar was encased in a cedar box inscribed with the signature of Partagas renowned master blender, Ramon Cifuentes. Ten cigars were then presented in Specially Numbered Varnished Book Humidor’s. As seen, this Book Humidor is in great condition with minor shelf wear and will. Rare 19th Century French Antique Napoleon III Music Box Humidor. This marvelous piece intrigues and delights. Made of black lacquered wood with a beautiful red-tinted patina on the doors. Hexagon in shape, the humidor opens by 6 doors. Each door is adorned on the outside with a lyre. The inside of each door displays floral motif mounts with three rings and a lower plate to hold cigars. The humidor sits atop an undulating base decorated with two studded garlands. Garlands also adorn the top of the humidor and the knob that was once used to open the doors (now only one door opens using the knob, the others must be opened manually). A lever on the side of the base starts and stops the music. The music box is wound using a keyhole found on the bottom of the base. The music box functions and the original key is included. The music itself is quite charming. We can send an audio file of the song on request. The humidor is in good antique condition. Only one door opens with the mechanism, the other doors open manually. One door is missing the cigar-holding rings on the inside. There are a couple of cracks in the base, some nicks and scuffs, and some damage to top wood panel. CENTURY DERBY SILVER CO. BULLDOG FIGURAL TOBACCO BOX HUMIDOR. Measures approximately 6 high (to the bulldogs ear) by 5 5/16 wide by 6 1/8 deep. Signed on the underside Derby Silver Co. It also features the impressed numbers 90 and 3406. This silverplated tobacco box/humidor is in excellent original condition. The bulldog has wonderful brown/black glass eyes. There are two round-headed screws which hold the lid down over the compartment under the bulldog. One of them is brass-colored and I assume is a replacement. The other one is what I believe is probably the original silver-colored one. The Derby Silver Company was founded in 1872, and began operations on Shelton’s Canal Street one year later. The company soon outgrew its quarters and constructed a larger building, which still stands on Bridge Street, Shelton, in 1877 near the Housatonic River, overlooking Derby. A number of additions were added in subsequent years. The original Canal Street building was razed when the railroad was built through Shelton in 1888. The company made toilet articles, mirrors, combs, clocks, brushes, table and flatware, tea sets, children’s cups, loving cups (trophies), candlesticks, fruit baskets, dishes, basically anything which was plated by or made of silver. Special orders were constantly commissioned as well. The factory manufactured items for the Sperry and Hutchins trading stamp stores. Showrooms were established in New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco. The logo at the time featured an anchor, often with the words “Derby Silver Company” or its initials surrounding it. In 1898, the plant merged with the International Silver Company, a consortium of Connecticut silver companies. At that time the Derby Silver Company works was known as “Factory B”. Thus, as a rule of thumb, items with the Derby Silver Company logo most likely date from the nineteenth century, while items with the International Silver Company logo, either Derby or Factory B, are from the twentieth. This was s gift to the Senior Vice President of Hilton Hotels by jazz and Latin musician Sergio Mendes in late 1970’s. The plaque reads: Henri Lewin, my sincere thanks, Sergio Mendes.
