A very large Silver Crest Arts & Crafts Bronze’Coat of Arms’ Themed Humidor Cigar Box from circa 1920s in amazingly good condition, for being over 100 years old. There are no dents or dings (other than minor patina from age). Everything is straight, and unbent. The hinge is extremely solid, with no looseness or play in it, and the whole thing is built very heavy and solid, and weighs 5 lbs. The fit/fitment of the lid is still absolutely perfect and near air-tight. 10.5 x 6.6 x 3.5 inches. Note: In heraldry, a “triple crosslet” (or three crosslets) typically symbolizes faith, particularly Christian faith, and the hope of salvation. The presence of three crosslets can be interpreted as a representation of the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) or the three virtues of faith, hope, and charity.
