Victorian Sterling Silver Arthur & Bond Yokohama Dragon Motif Cigar Humidor Box

Antique sterling silver believed to be Cigar Humidor Box or a Men’s Desk or Trinket Box, with Textured Raised Dragon Motif, signed Arthur & Bond Yokohama. Has a light hammered finish, detailed dragons on the cover and around the sides. Measures 6x4x1.75 in size, with hinged cover. In very good antique condition; the outside has very little surface wear, bottom has some dings and light scratches; inside top cover is warped and bent in spots, inside bottom is a tad bent, bottom rim is bent and there is dirt and discoloration; inside top cover rim has a scratched mark – see next to last photo, cover fits and closes evenly, and the hinge is fine and working. We’ve not cleaned nor polished the box and leave that to the new owner. It weighs 290 dwt, or 451 grams or 15.90 ounces. Antique Victorian Smoker’s Box. Cigar Tobacco box humidor. Solid Oak box with Ornate Brass filigree “Cigar” and corner embellishments. Ornate tin metal lined interior. The hinges are both marked with. Pat’D July 1st, 1890. (does not mean that was date made, just patent approved). Believe it to be late 1800s/ early 1900s. Working lock, no key. Box measures 10 x 6.5 wide x 4-1/2 tall. Inside width: 9 x 5-1/2. Breakables are ALWAYS INSURED. I have given due diligence to the research. Handsome Antique Humidor in need of minor restoration. Veneered in Walnut with cross banding and stringing. Fitted with three drawers with brass Campaign type handle fittings. It needs a new lock or the existing one mending, there is a key with it which currently doesn’t work, however once a steel pin is replaced in the key hole I suspect it might. The drawers work however the linings have been replaced. There is a bit of Satin wood stringing missing from the top. See photos for detail.
