Here we have a fabulous cigar humidor made in the USA. A plaque on the top reads S. Collection and Spirit Of St Louis New York & Paris. In super used condition and probably made in the 90’s. Lovely engine turned metal facial with humidity. Gauge and measuring 11 inches[28cm] long by 8.5 ins wide[22cm] 5 ins deep at top[13cm] sloping down to 4 ins [10cm]. RARE Rockwell Kent Brass Cigar Box, Art Deco Engraved Lady by A G Spaulding

1928 RARE Rockwell Kent Sally Art Deco Cigar Box. The outside of the box is brass and the inside is lined with wood. The image on the front is attributed ti Rockwell Kent, a famous artist, print maker and writer, 1882 1971. The image depicts Sally (Sally Kent Gorton) his wife and widow. The image was designed in 1928 for an A. Spalding & Brothers magazine advertisement. Epicts Sally (Sally Kent Gorton) his wife and widow. There are very few of this particular box available. Rockwell Kent had the image etched in the lids of some brass boxes and gave them out as gifts to friends and business associates. This particular box has been well cared for. The inside of the is clean and in very good condition. The brass on the outside has developed a nice patina and has other signs of normal age. The lid is also still very well attached with a good working hinge. It is about 2 5/8 inches by 5.5 inches by 7 1/8 inches. The box is marked A. The box has some size as it measures 6 1/4″ wide by 2 1/2″ tall and 3 13/16 deep to the outside rivets on the top of the box. The cigar box displays a rectangular shape and has a wonderful deep mottled and frothy green or frog skin patina that Heintz made famous. This is the favored patina with the Heintz collectors. This box has a cedar liner in the bottom and a slot on each side of the top lid in which I believe a screen that held moisture was kept. You rarely find these with the screens. The top of the box has a silver overlay pattern in an art nouveau motif along its border. It is also monogrammed in silver with the initials E. This box is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no major dents or dings. The lid opens and closes with ease. It is only lightly sprung on the front left but closes 95% of the way. The patina is excellent and only shows minors signs of wear. The piece is signed on the underside bottom with the impressed post patent diamond mark with the number 2649 also impressed just above. Below the diamond mark it is also impressed Sterling on Bronze pat. 27.12″ There is also a number “64 impressed I believe this to be the shape of the box number. These same number appears in the top right hand corner of the lid when opened. It is actually upside down on the lid. There is also a number 7F40 lightly scratched upside down under the number 64. It seams made of mahogany wood, but I’m not sure about it. Please examine the pictures carefully as they are essential part of the description. Item has damages such as on the one hinge, scratches, one marquetry corner inlay is missing (pic 4), the wood has line cracks on the bottom.
