Brevete SGDG Moveable Humidor and Music Box. Handwritten Label Still Attached. This is a fabulous piece! It’s 10 tall, heavily decorated. Operates perfectly and is excellent inside and out. There are some missing parts inside. One pics shows the missing holder. One small repair on base but in no way affects the provenance this piece provides. The handwritten label is still glued on, but I couldn’t read it. Pics do a pretty good job, but questions always welcomed! Thanks for your interest! A 19th century smoker’s caddy with huge and beautifully carved German Shepherd dog hinged to open for tobacco or cigar storage inside hollowed out pot. An angled server for matches and a brass cup for spent matches and ashes or cigar clippings. This one is superb! Yes, tip of one ear has been chipped ages ago, could be restored quite easily. No other flaws to note. Glass eyes bring him alive, don’t they? He’s chained, and rests one front foot above the squared off old log that comprises the 11 wide front piece, with a paw showing along bottom, too. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. That he’s got one nipped ear only is a bit of a miracle after so long a time. Obviously well cared for and cherished. The brass pot shows some old evidence of ash. He’s definitely served well. The interior of the tobacco compartment is clear, no residue, no odors. I’ve noted maximum depth on the photos, and that it is 8″ tall as it sits, and 11″ wide. Yes, some very old and inactive (treated) woodworm holes here or there. Nothing spongy or ruined about him. Just that Old European charm of age. You will LOVE this one! We’re easy to deal with. A good looking master craftsman carved cigar box complete with the original key and very angry dog protecting the contents. The box comes complete with the original lock and key which work just fine. We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be normal age related patina marks all over. Height:- 19.5cm. Depth:- 23.5cm. CARVED WOODEN TOBACCO BOX / HUMIDOR. About 9 3/4″ x 6″ x 5 1/2. Mahogany wooden humidor, carved on all four sides and the top. Oval cameo of tobacco smoking pipes on the lid. Carved in the form of an iron-bound chest, with intricately textured sides, and iron bands, complete with attaching wooden screws. Inside lined with silvery gray paper. Still retains the old tobacco odor. Best guess for age is last quarter 19th century. Some surface wear, especially around the corners and edges (all visible in the images). Rich, dark age patina. 19th Century French Twelve-Cigar Holder Box with Brass Mounts and Music Box circa 1860. Elegant antique rosewood box from France, circa 1870; the twelve cigars holder features a rotating top finial with open and close mechanism where music can be heard. The outside of all six doors features brass mounts with music instruments including a lyre, horn and flute, and the base has two rows of brass beads. Inside each door, there are brass mounts which can hold up to three cigars. The music box is activated with a key under the bottom. Excellent condition with rich patina. Measures: 8″ dia x 12″ H. Key for the music box winder is missing, however the music mechanism (Swiss made) is still working fine. There are some brass cigar mounts missing see photos please.
