The original incarnation chest was patented on Dec. 22nd 1908, though this particular chest likely originated a few years later. The tobacco burst image residing under the lid has worn off or was removed. These humidors are constructed of oak and lined with porcelain. This chest is missing its key. Countertop Humidor Double Box Store Display, Made of Metal, Uncleaned with Light Topical Dirt, Original Ox-blood Red Paint, Random Scuffs, Faded Graphics on all sides and Sign Topper. Original Glass, Nickel Covered Frames show Wear and loss of Nickle Plating (see photos). Sign Topper Folds down to access the Humidor. No Major Dents, Dings or Repairs. The lid bears a bold brass “Cigars” script inlay, curling across the grain like a signature from a more confident century. Beneath it, the interior is tin-lined and ventilated, punched with a cross-pattern to regulate humidity the old-fashioned way-through design, not batteries. The antique brass clasp still closes smoothly, though the key has been lost to time’s junk drawer, and the wood has taken on that deep, warm tone that can’t be faked or forced. Dimensions: 9.75″ wide x 6.5″ deep x 4 high. Condition: Excellent structural integrity; interior shows age-appropriate patina and light oxidation. Attractive antique silverplate filigree decorates the exterior of the cigar box. Interior contains a removable metal liner. No key is included; box is unlocked. External dimensions: 11.5 x 7 x 6.5 inches. Internal dimensions: 10.5 x 6.25 x 5.5 inches. Weight: 4.5 pounds.
