Antique 19th century Victorian wooden cigar caddy or cigar presenter box. Free standing table top cabinet form. Sarcophagus styling to the top. Centered by ornate metal cartouches, the side hinges with stylized foliate decoration. Resting on four knob feet. Cabinet measures 11 3/8″ height x 8 1/8″ width x 7 1/2 deep. Opening to reveal eight sliding drawers with metal knobs. The carved grooved slots are capable of holding up to 6 cigars per drawer. The carved slots measure 5 1/4″ length x 13/16″ width. Will easily hold cigarillos and cigars with a cepo of 40 gauge with a 5 1/8 maximum length. A rare, antique Meriden silverplate Art Nouveau humidor with a nude lady on the lid. The box is just over 8.75 inches wide and is just over 2.5 inches tall. This is a very scarce model that is in excellent condition with only a few small touches of wear to some high points / high contact areas, and some light scratches. This is so beautiful the pictures just don’t do it justice. 6.75 inches tall x 6.5 inches wide. The opening is 5.5 inches wide. Making it easy to store your tobacco products. This is one of the largest of Monroe’s Opal Glass boxes. This is a the puffy egg crate style design. Over 100 years old this beautiful Box is in excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs, no scratches. There is some age tarnishing on the brass collar as shown in the pictures. A bit of history, the CF Monroe Co. Was founded in 1880 in Meriden Connecticut. Hand-Painted enameled in pastel colored floral designs. This beautiful Opal covered cigar box has a ribbed brass collar and clasp, each corner has an ornate ormolu. The brass hinge on the back works smoothly. The front clasp and cover fit evenly and snug. The beautiful footed legs each have a Cherub type figurine adding to its beauty and detail. The inside of the top has a sponge compartment. Grasp the little knob and turn gently to remove it and place a sponge inside and return the lid. Keeping your cigars or tobacco products fresh. Offered here LG Antique (I believe English) Hand painted. Decorated with a bird a flowers and scenic painting on the lid Tole. And probably was lined with tin? .. Not sure about it. Co and patent on the bronze lock (no key). This is Extremely RARE to see and incredible craftsmanship item! Has two compartments inserted into lid, /. Then it has removable with Bronze handle and two compartments part. The box has very serious lock installed, and with the right key (ask Locksmith co) will make a very safe documents box… Or if tin removed and interior lined with velour could be jewelry box.
