Antique 1800’s Cigars Humidor Box Rosewood, Burl Veneer & Mother of Pearl Inlay & Lock. For your consideration is a very beautiful antique cigars box. Very well crafted from high quality wood with burl veneer. Exquisitely inlayed with mother-of-pearl floral garlands on top and and small rhombus pieces at the edges. Mother of pearl around the key hole as well. Incrusted silver wire outlines the cut out from white, silver metal label on top: CIGARES – in French. The original foil paper inner lining almost entirely remains. The locking mechanism looks in good order, the key has been lost unfortunately. Very classy and stylish early humidor. Circa mid/late 19th century, French or Chinese Export for the French market. 10.25″ x 6″ x 4. Weighs about 1 lb. Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos below. No splits or restorations. Minor scuffs and scratches here and there, one piece of the silver wire highlights, outlining the center part on top, has been lost; altogether commensurate with age and use.
