LARGE antique handmade Partagas table top burl wood marquetry cigar box humidor

Up for sale is a large high quality antique Partagas table top cigar box. It’s made by hand out of high quality burl wood and done with an inlaid marquetry design. The box is beautifully footed and has a working skeleton key lock on the front. It opens on a hinge and in nice condition measuring 16 1/2 inches by 16 1/2 inches by 5 inches tall. The box is missing a small piece of trim on the back corner, has a crack to the bottom interior, and missing the inside removable shelf. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. Please make sure to look at all pictures very closely before purchasing, as most pieces in my shop are non refundable. Most items are antique or vintage and could have usual ware from age. Up for sale is a high quality antique 19th century handmade Eastlake style wooden cigar humidor box. It’s beautifully dovetailed together on all sides and has acquired a lovely patina from age. It has an exquisite Eastlake handle mounted to the front made of an ornate gilded brass with attached wooden spherical ends. The handle pivots up and down on a ball joint exposing the hidden key lock underneath. It opens on a hinge and is lined with solid stone under the lid along with all sides of the. They were added to keep tobacco products fresh. The box measures 11 1/2 inches long by 9 inches wide by 7 3/4 inches tall. It is missing the key, and has cracking to the stone on the bottom half. CARVED WOODEN TOBACCO BOX / HUMIDOR. About 9 3/4″ x 6″ x 5 1/2. Mahogany wooden humidor, carved on all four sides and the top. Oval cameo of tobacco smoking pipes on the lid. Carved in the form of an iron-bound chest, with intricately textured sides, and iron bands, complete with attaching wooden screws. Inside lined with silvery gray paper. Still retains the old tobacco odor. Best guess for age is last quarter 19th century. Some surface wear, especially around the corners and edges (all visible in the images). Rich, dark age patina. Very Attractive Antique Rogers & Bro. Silver Plate Figural Dog Humidor. The box features a dog, possibly a pug, with glass eyes and a raised paw. It stands on spherical feet and has elaborate relief filigree with mythical faces along all sides. It has two compartments. One is hinged with a knob finial for cigar storage and the other, below the dog, is for storage of a damp sponge to keep tobacco moist. There is a vented wall between the two compartments and threaded fasteners securing the section of lid with the dog on it to the box. The bottom is marked Rogers & Bro.
