An unusual dog box / cigar box holder – possibly Conta & Boehm but definitely a European maker. Great detail and color throughout with a very expressive face to dog. Unmarked anywhere the lid has two chips to underside interior lip (see photos). Ill add a photo of interior as it was blurry when I tried to load – interior has factory separations to the walls where it meets the base (fired that way over 100 years ago). Cigar box measures 8 1/4 long by 4 1/2 inches wide at base and stands 5 1/2 inches tall. Dates to about 1840 or 1850 era – a stunner!!
