Brass Humidor Cigar Box, ca. 1910-20 Small brass humidor cigar or cigarette box by Apollo Studios of New York, crafted ca. 1910-20 and featuring a detailed hammered relief landscape design of trees and overlapping hills covering all four sides and lid. Stamped APOLLO STUDIOS / NEW YORK / 710 to the bottom. 3.6 inch cube. Apollo Studios of New York was a division of Bernard Rice’s & Sons and items marked with the Apollo stamp were made from 1909 until 1922. These pieces are usually marked with Apollo Studios NY followed by a mold number. In 1872, the Apollo Silver Co. Merged with the bankrupt Redfield & Rice Co, and formed Bernard Rice’s Sons. Up for sale is a RARE Religious Christian Motif Footed Wood Lined HEAVY SOLID Brass Cigar Box. The panels depict different biblical scenes. Each division features a flower. It is marked and made in Germany. You will not fins another! It measures 6″x 3.75″ x 3. It is in VERY GOOD condition with a warm patina, some discoloration to the wood as seen in the photos, but no real damage. The hinges and lid are tight! Don’t forget the “Best Offer” option. I will go with the lowest cost!

This is a fabulous 19th Century Continental very heavy 7 1/2 pounds ornate brass or bronze humidor box from one of the finest families in my hometown. Measures 11″ by 6″ by 3 3/4 and features birds done in an Art Nouveau or maybe an Oriental design. It snaps shut nicely. Below that looks like a lock but the box did not come with a key. Has a makers hallmark on the bottom which looks like a W. I originally thought it was Erhard & Sohne but this would not be their mark. The inside has a wooden base which had an old rubber band residue I mostly removed. The lid has its original metal insert designed to keep moisture in the box for cigars freshness. The brass or bronze patina is very nice with just a bit of tarnish from sitting around. You will love condition, craftmanship and lovely design. Very lovely in person.
