Antique Silverplate Cigar Box Tobacco Box

Rare, antique, silverplate/ quadruple plate, cigar/ cigarette/ tobacco/ smoking box. Gorgeous and unique, this box is oval, the lid lifts up and holds a round mirror (more likely held an ashtray previously). The bottom half has built in spots for perhaps tobacco, ashtray, cutter, matches and cigar. The lid has engraved garland and bow with the monogram “CMS”. The bottom has 4 ball feet. This box is so much lovelier in person than in pictures as it’s still very shiny. I’ This box is perfect for use on your desk, in office, bar top, etc. Measurements: approx 8 1/4″ long x 6 1/2″ wide x 3 1/2 tall. Marks: Colonial Silver Co Quadruple Plate Portland Me 1360. This inkwell is in good antique condition. May have typical signs of vintage use such as slight surface scratches, plating wear, more near the etchings (not obvious at all, looks way better in person than in pictures). My pictures aren’t doctored to hide flaws so please use photos as part of the description. My items are antique and vintage. They have been loved through the years and most likely will show such. Includes original gold tone barometer and humidor sponge holder. Made of solid wood construction, and gold-tone hinges with finely crafted swing limiter and signed Lalique France nameplate, felt-padded divider sleeve of hardwood and original key. Glass is signed Lalique France in bottom right corner. 1994 – Marie -Claude Lalique – Loupe Madrona. Frosted Crystal – Burlwood. Length: 24 cm / 9.44 Inch. Height: 8,8 cm / 3.46 Inch. Width: 21,5 cm / 8.46 Inch. Weight: 2,195 gr / 4.83 lb. Pre-owned, in a perfect condition, never used. Lock is working perfectly and humidor has inside the original hygrometer and humidor sponge holder (in their pouches) as well as one felt-padded divider sleeve of hardwood. STUNNINGLY CUSTOM HANDMADE WOODEN HUMIDOR/CIGAR BOX BY CHARLES TEDDER OF HIGH POINT, NC. EXTERIOR MEASUREMENTS ARE 14″ LONG X 10 1/2″ WIDE X 5 HIGH. A THIN BLOCK OF WOOD INSIDE THE LID CAN DISPLAY YOUR NAME OPPOSITE THAT OF THE CREATOR, CHARLES TEDDER. NOTE SLATS IN THE TOP TRAY TO ALLOW THE MOISTURE TO PERMEATE BOTH LAYERS OF STORED CIGARS. LID HAS THREE HINGES TO PROVIDE STRENGTH. THE MAIN WOOD ON THE TOP AND THE BASE OF THE BOX IS CHAK-KOK WITH ACCENT PIECES OF EBONY AND HOLLY (WHITE). TEDDER’S WOODCRAFT IS EXTRAORDINARY AND WELL-SOUGHT AFTER. Charles is a fourth generation wood-worker. “From the time I can remember, I was handing my father his tools”. He spent most of his adult life working for Hatteras Yachts. For most of those years he was manager of Quality Assurance. “I maintained a wood-working shop as a hobby and to relax myself after wearing a tie for eight hours”. In the early 90’s, after twenty five years with Hatteras Yachts, Charles went into business for himself and chose to start an antique furniture repair business. About five years ago I made my first humidor for a friend. He ordered six more and by word of mouth I was swamped with requests for custom, one-of-a-kind humidors. Charles says he has made over three hundred humidors with no two ever the same. “I sign and date each one and never make another one exactly like it”. I work with over thirty different types of domestic and exotic hardwoods. I don’t use any wood that is on the endangered list. I have always lived in North Carolina and love this state. I hate using the G word but this is considered a Grail among hardcore Tatuaje & cigar collectors. Originally released in 2008, this box is in mint condition. It has never been displayed which is why the colors and condition of box are amazing. Normally I see scratches, dings & discoloration from other sellers.
