This is a Humidor or cigar box with the copper plaque of a dog “Sam” made by Henry W. Longfellow, a distant relative of the poet. It has a sticker that identifies it as’made by H. I’ve found these dated to the 1930s. It features a nice warm finish that is achieved over time. Made of walnut by Decatur Industries. Measures 8 by 11 inches, 3 inches deep. Weighs just under 3 pounds. In very good condition, with some light scratches and some stains, from cigars, on the inside. The item “Vintage H. W. Wood lined copper/ bronze box with a beautifully rendered picture of fisher type goddess catching fish. Scene depicts shell bench, bridge, and sailboat. Top and sides leaf intricate design. I believe the copper/ bronze details are etched, but not 100% sure. Condition: In good pre-owned condition. Hows typical/expected wear from normal usage and age. The metal part has normal tarnishing. Antique Stamped Copper Humidor Box with Applied Scarab Beetles Blue Stones Glass

THIS LISTING IS FOR… This wonderful, antique, Copper Humidor Box with applied Scarab Beetles and Blue stones or glass. It measures 6 by 3.5 inches and is 3.5 inches tall. This box is an exceptional beauty. It has feet and a stamped design all around the edge. There is a ribbed pattern in relief circling the box as well. There are 5 scarab beetles applied on the top and 8 blue stones or glass with 2 being in the eyes of the largest scarab beetle. Inside of the box is very clean. There is a dent on the underside by one of the feet so maybe it was repaired at sometime. I do see Silver solder on every one of the feet and other places so I’m assuming that was the way it was originally made. I’m also assuming this is an antique and that it is Egyptian. It has no markings on it anywhere and I was unable to find anything like it anywhere in my internet searches to compare it to.
