Rare Rockwell Kent’Sally’ Art Deco Cigar Box. 1928 rare Rockwell Kent’Sally’ Art Deco cigar Box. The image on the lid of the box is attributed to Rockwell Kent, a famous early 20th c. The image depicts Sally Kent Gorton his wife and widow. The image was designed in 1928 for an A. Spalding & Brothers (men’s only store – 520 Fifth Avenue, NY) magazine advertisement. There are very few of this particular box available. Rockwell Kent had the image etched in the lids of some brass boxes, made by Chase Brass and Copper Company and gave them out as gifts to friends and business associates. This particular box has been well cared for. The inside of the is clean and in very good condition and I guess re-felted. The brass on the outside has developed a nice patina and has other signs of normal age. The box is marked A. Spalding & Bros on the front rim and EPCO on the back rim E. Is The East Prospect Cigar Company, Pennsylvania. Approximate dimensions: 18cm wide x 14cm deep x6.5 cm high. Collection/couriers always welcome from PE14 9PF, however we do not arrange the courier service but can recommend someone. Please do not use myHermes or similar – these are for easily wrapped parcels – not larger bits of furniture or items marked as collection only. By courier we mean a man with a van! Incredible Antique Tiffany & Co. Etched Sterling Silver Wood Lined Humidor Box. This elegant box is made of highly detailed sterling silver & is lined in wood. Very Fine acid-etched scroll mesh lace pattern. Box and cover cedar lined and partitioned. The silver has been lightly polished to highlight the fine etching. There are minor dings and imperfections. The wood lining has a crack on the bottom, and just 2 of the original 3 removable dividers remain. The wood retains the luscious scent from Partagas gone by. Your local jeweler should be able to quickly remove the engraved initials from the lid. This is a thoroughly glamorous gift for a Man or Woman. We believe the box dates to 1931 or prior, under the directorship of Jo hn C. Moore II (1907 – 1947). Approximate measurements 9-1/4″ long by 5-3/4″ deep x 1-3/4 high. As you can see it is very nice and clean on the interior -has beautiful multi color tone mahogany woods and wonderful banded inlay. Condition – The monogram top name plaque was removed by family – (read specifics above – it is in over all very nice as seen in pictures original condition with some minor clear lacquer wear on top edge seen in picture #5).
