It’s embellished with hand sculpted detailing throughout done with a very dimensional approach and features berries and flowers. The lid removes and it is signed underneath Nicks & Hoffman N. The box is in nice antique condition and measures. 5-1/2″h x 9″w x 5d. It is missing a couple small sculpted pieces as shown in all photos. This estate fresh, un-restored solid cherry wood humidor from the 1880’s measures 9″ x 14″ x 8 1/2 overall and retains original surface on the outside and original zinc interior. One end has a tinsmith made zinc drawer for a damp sponge and all of the exterior is decorated with delicately cut-out and colored pictorial paper decorations of birds, trees, castle, horsemen and flowers. It retains original brass hinges and ceramic knob and is sturdy (dirty) and usable with some gentle cleaning. The wood bottom is a bit soft from years of dripping moisture from the “sponge drawer” and there is significant wear and loss to the applied paper decoration on the lid. Carved Wood Folk Art Antique 13 x 8 Tin Lined Humidor Brass M. Monogram Lock Box (no key). Measurements – 3.5 H x 13 W x 8 D. Weight – 2 lb 9 oz. Very nice quality hand carved wood humidor box with brass inset monogram M. And tin lining, however there are some condition issues as follows: Crack across the top of the lid; rub mark below the brass monogram; no key for the lock; no chain to hold the lid when open. On the plus side: very nice quality wood; although lid is cracked the frame is not so the box is sturdy, lid fits properly and opens/closes with ease; true antique with age and character – brass inset monogram M. Original tin lining, metal button feet and lock – perhaps you can find a key’ carved panels all around except bottom. The scuffs are light and left as found – these could easily be touched up with finish feeder and look nicer than we are presenting. Up for sale is a high quality antique handmade wooden Folk Art cigar humidor box. It’s made with exquisite detailing throughout out of dense wood and has a leather wrapped domed lid wrapped in leather. The leather is painted with a figural knight scene and fastened with large brass studs. The box is also painted on each side with gorgeous design done in rich color. It has dimensional mounted cold painted praying figures on each corner along with 4 outward facing lions. The handle pivots up and down on a ball joint exposing the hidden key lock underneath. It opens on a hinge and features a removable handmade toleware box that has a compartment for a humidor block under the lid. The box is in nice condition, has acquired a lovely patina from age, and measures 14 1/2 inches long by 12 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches tall.
