An outstanding antique 19th century Victorian wooden cigar caddy box. Unique cabinet form with sarcophagus styling to the top. Double front doors, retains a working lock and key. Beautifully carved from walnut perhaps, finished with gorgeous detailing along the edges. Superb hardware throughout, brass or bronze finished in silver gilt. With exquisite openwork at the hinges and ornate lock escutcheons to the front doors. Opening to reveal eight sliding and removable cigar racks, each capable of holding six cigars. Resting on four bun feet. Overall in good condition with general wear commensurate with use and age. The back having a couple of old cracks to the wood panel as shown.
