First, please disregard that fuzzy black mark that appears in the pictures. It is NOT on the item but in my camera. Here is a great rare delft blue tobacco/cigar humidor that was made by Zenith-Gouda, Holland back in 1979 – just about 40 years ago. What a beautiful, classic piece this is. 67 out of 100 that was produced as a limited edition for the Tinder Box. The Tinder Box is a upscale store that caters to tobacco/cigars/cigarettes enthusiasts. For over 90 years. This rare humidor is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The lid is brass and also in good condition abiet it could do with a better polish than my old arthritic hands can give it. There is a foam square inside the lid that can be replaced. This foam is what keeps the absorbs the moisture and keeps tobacco products fresh. Thre is also a foam band around the top of the jar that keeps the lid tight for the same purpose. 8″ tall to the top of the final of the brass lid, and is about 6 1/2″ in diameter at the widest. What is great is that the original lid is still with it. Over the years these pieces can get separated. It is well marked on the bottom. Zenith-Gouda has been producing quality Delftware since 1749. The jar has high relief flowers and scrolls painted pink and hand enameled with dainty blue flowers on top, front and back The front has the word “Cigars” in Violet The Brass collar/band has a keyhole, but the key is missing. The Jar is hallmarked with one of their earlier style Trademarks in Red. The hinge is tight and opens and closes properly. Victorian Antique Rosewood Decanter Humidor Games Box circa 1900

Antique Decanter Humidor Games Box circa 1900. This Humidor Games Box is a monumental piece. Features like Brass mounts surround the box, whilst Brass handles feature on either side, matched with the Brass escutcheon appearing on the front. Elegantly veneered in exotic Rosewood, this games box has beautiful floral marquetry features on the front, top and sides of this unique piece. There are three magnificent decanters and a drawer at the front of the box that is secured in place when the box is closed and locked. A Bramah key is used to unlock this entertainment box which results in the two bevelled glazed doors springing up, allowing them to be opened – this also causes the sprung pin for the games drawer to be released. There is now ample space to tip forward and remove the large crystal-cut decanters, as well as the four matching spirit glasses and any smoking accessories kept in the cedar-lined central compartment. An opening of the drawer at the front of the box reveals a luxurious interior comprised of solid Satinwood, containing several games which include a cribbage board, alongside natural and red stained bone counters, one full deck of cards and one stripped deck with rule cards for the games. De La Rue’,’ Co’s Whist’ and’Bezique. Among the contents of this tantalus box is its original Bramah key. In order to unlock, press into the barrel of the lock, maintain pressure and turn counterclockwise. The glazed doors will then spring up after this procedure.
