A BRIEF HISTORY OF LANE. Lane was originally founded in Dresden, Germany in 1890. Then, as today, the company specialized in the highest quality pipe and roll-your-own cigarette tobaccos. Lane, one of the founder’s grandsons, emigrated to the United States in 1938 and re-established the company in Manhattan. Pipe tobaccos were manufactured at 25 Beekman St. In New York City until 1983. In 1983 the production facilities were moved to Tucker, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. This beautiful item is being listed for my newest clients as their folks traveled all over the world. Done in a high gloss burled wood, it has the humidifier new in the box and it attaches by magnet. Measuring approximately 9 13/16″x7 3/8″x4 inside, please zoom in on the 4 close ups of the edges because when I read about another humidor online, I saw that the edges were described as’split’ so I don’t know if it comes like this being all 4 are similar but you may need someone to use wood glue and clamp them back down. Humidor kit may contain a variety of humidor accessories. Humidifier, hygrometer, and thermometer. Each part plays an important role, but the only indispensable device is the humidifier.
