Up for sale is a high quality antique 19th century handmade wooden cigar humidor box. It’s made out of a rich colored mahogany with ornate open worked plated metal corners and has acquired a lovely sheen patina from age. The lid opens on dual hinges and is lined with an early traditional tin humidor lining that has wings in the back for a humidor stone. It’s in nice antique condition and measures 10 inches long by 6 3/4 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall. The box has a square key entry but is missing the original key. Antique Victorian Smoker’s Box. Cigar Tobacco box humidor. Solid Oak box with Ornate Brass filigree “Cigar” and corner embellishments. Ornate tin metal lined interior. The hinges are both marked with. Pat’D July 1st, 1890. (does not mean that was date made, just patent approved). Believe it to be late 1800s/ early 1900s. Working lock, no key. Box measures 10 x 6.5 wide x 4-1/2 tall. Inside width: 9 x 5-1/2. Breakables are ALWAYS INSURED. I have given due diligence to the research. No breaks, few light scratches, some minor tarnishing over all very good condition in consideration of the age, please see photos for full details estate find may need good cleaning. Up for sale is a high quality antique 19th century handmade wooden marquetry cigar humidor box. It’s crafted with elaborate design consisting of hand cut and inlaid marquetry detailing throughout and finished with a floral detailed velour lining underneath. This lovely hinged box has a tapered lid and is lined with a tin metal lining meant for cigar preservation. It has an elaborate Art Deco cast iron locking mechanism on the face but does not have a key. It’s in nice used condition and measures 11 inches long by 7 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall. Up for sale is a nice high quality antique late 19th century figural cigar box. It’s done with very elaborate detailing, made of a silver plated brass, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. The box has an exquisite figural scene depicted on every panel in high relief and is very intricate design. It’s lined with a cedar wooden lining and footed with circular legs. In nice antique condition and measures 7 3/4 inches long by 3 3/4 inches tall by 5 3/4 inches wide. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. Rare Antique French 12 Tantalus Style Cigar Chest or Box, Ebony & Ornate Inlay. All items and photos are the express property of Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. Magnificent & rare antique French Victorian or Napoleon III era 12 tantalus style cigar chest or box with elegant ebonized veneers, ornate inlaid lid & serpentine front and opulent veneer lined interior with five trays slotted to hold up to 65 cigars! One of three similar boxes that we now have available in the jet black ebonized veneers & ornate inlay, one of the others a marked Paul SORMANI piece. The Sormani name has a long and lauded history as as one of the finest of the fine where French ebanistes or cabinet & box makers are concerned, ranking right up there with Tahan, Vervelle & Diehl to name a few of the most well known. This piece bears no maker marking, normally found on the inside brass or bronze locking plate. If you take a look at our other that is marked by Sormani, you’ll see they are so similar that one could just assume they’re from the same or equally renowned maker. There are two small spots of veneer chipping visible in the pictures, right and left front corners of the lid. The chest is raised on triangular shaped ebonized wood feet and I can’t be certain if they are original. Otherwise, just as you see it with no missing or damaged’cream’ colored inlay that I can see and the interior is in pristine shape. Working lock & key, too! See pictures for all measurements.
