Inside it, as per Neapolitan culture, they keep memories, feelings of joy and hope, beliefs and secrets. Original inlay designs combined with local traditional motifs – known also as Intarsio Sorrentino – were brought to life in each piece by the first generation of Ercolano family, due to years of practice, passion and love for wood. The inlay technique is an ancient and noble art handed down from generation to generation according to the tradition of craft constantly renewing its studies and experiments. Their craftsmen and artists, who are specialized only in manually preparing each and every inlay for each box, work with Ercolano for 30-40 years, some of them being employed by the father of the current owner.
