BEAUTIFUL LARGE SILVER ANTIQUE CIGAR BOX. This is a magnificent early 20th-century (1908) sterling silver large cigar box, or can be used as a trinket storage box. Elegant plain finish, with spreading walls and a high domed lid. Raised on four bracket feet. Cedar wood lined interior, in clean condition. The lid closes flush with the body, without leaving any gap. Fully hallmarked on the lid and the body. It is free from inscriptions or monograms. The base measures 9″ x 5 1/2″ approximately. The underside is lined with a real wood panel. HALLMARKS: Chester, STERLING fineness 92.5%. MAKER George Unite & Sons. DIMENSION: 22.5cm x 13.8cm (9″ x 5 1/2″). Height: 7cm (2 3/4) approx. P&B Ltd English sterling hallmarks throughout. Measures 9.25 inches x 6.5 inches. 2.75 inches tall not including the handle. Total weight is approximately 55 Troy Ounces. Condition: please note the cigar cutter needs a repair. Mechanism needs to fit into silver properly. There are also a couple of pin point dings on the box lid and on the sides. HUMIDOR CIGAR BOX SILVER PLATE MERIDEN VICTORIAN 1886. Dimensions 6 inches wide, 3-1/2in. A silver plated humidor box mounted with a dancing couple in 18th C. By Meriden Britannia Co. The sides of box are decorated with flowers and leaves in the Aesthetic Movement style. The box is raised on 4 bun feet. The pair of gracefully posed dancers are modeled with intricate detail. The partition separating the compartment for a sponge is perforated for circulation of moisture. Partition is slightly bent. Overall condition very good. This box could also be used for jewelry as the dancing figures would look at home on a dressing table.
