Fabulous vintage French smoker’s presenter box with hidden storage for cigars & cigarettes or cheroots in the from of a stack of antique leather bound books, this one with actual individual leaves or pages in the lid, gilt embossed bindings including a crown topped armorial style crest on the lid, entitled Histoire De France and in wonderful condition! Quite unique, we’ve offered these in the past and they always sell as quickly as we can get them listed. With the look of two old leather bound volumes but hidden inside is a dual-lidded compartment for cigars in the base and fittings for cigarettes or cheroots under each lid! As realistic as they get and, I’m sure the top book is genuine with several individual pages in the top! Open the lid and there are numerous individual pages above the lower smoker’s compartment. The first page entitled Histoire De France by Tome Septieme and a bit further in is the Parisian editor information and an ink stamp in the top right corner of that page. The bindings are somewhat aged but gilt or gold leaf lettered and the set is in great condition, age considered! Also a gold embossed stamp on the base of “Made in France”. Good to very good condition, age & materials considered. As said, these are two actual antique texts but we think the conversion is vintage. A few spots at the edges of the bindings with some wear and/or damage but, as you can see, it’s in overall wonderful condition. There is a bit of tearing to the right side of a few pages just above the compartments, all visible in images. See pictures for all measurements. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important!
