Solid Sterling Silver Cigarette Box. A very unusual solid silver cigarette box dating to London 1884. Of rectangular form, the exterior is wonderfully engraved throughout. Scenes depicted include departure, stables, an accident etc. The interior of the box is lined in cedar. Fully hallmarked for Wright & Davies, London 1884. A very unusual piece featuring engravings of outstanding quality. In good antique condition with expected wear. Some wear and minor losses to wood lining. Hallmarks are clear and legible. Champions Sterling Silver Tiffany & Co. Cigar Box / Humidor. Names on the box under the Red Wings emblem in block letters are B. Player names in script are Gordie Howe, Marcel Pronovost, Alex Delvecchio, Bill Gadsby, Larry Jeffrey, Ted Lindsay, Parker MacDonald, Eddie Joyal, Floyd Smith, Gary Bergman, Roger Crozier, Doug Barkley, Al Langlois Jr. Bruce MacGregor, Hubert “Pit” Martin, Ron Murphy, Norm Ullman and. Additional names in script are Sid Abel, Jim Skinner, Johnny Mitchell and Bruce A. Stamped on the back TIFFANY & CO. MAKERS STERLING SILVER 22358. 5 3/4″ x 9″ x 1 3/4. Weighs just over 28 Troy Oz with the interior removed. Included is its original Tiffany & Co. Felt bag, which has preserved this wonderful piece for close to sixty years and as a result is showing some staining and wear but it has done its job and is still present. The box displays very well. There are a few fine scratches and a couple of very shallow marks. Overall in excellent plus condition. I do my best to accurately describe the items I sell. RARE ANTIQUE BENSON & HEDGES SILVER CUT GLASS CIGARETTE BOX with STERLING INSERT

This is quite rare, in excellent condition, only needing a light polishing which I will leave to you. I believe the top is silverplate, and has a fancy engraved monogram, and marked on the inside front edge Benson & Hedges as shown. Inside is a insert that I think is sterling silver, but is not marked, with center pierced box that measures the center section 3″ wide X 2 3/4″. Total this measures 9 3/4″ wide X 3 1/2″ deep X 3 1/4 high. The inside insert weighs 156 grams. Please look closely at my photos for details.
