This unusual, Rochard, Limoges box is a brown’wooden’ cigar humidor with “Fine Cigars” in gold script, a lit cigar, and 22KT gold pin stripe and dark brown borders. A tobacco leaf is the clasp, and the’cedar’ lined interior has a hygrometer/thermometer and four cigars with gold and black bans, and a removable, fifth one that is 2 long. The humidor is 1.5 by 2.5. ” with a height of 1.4″. On the bottom is: Peint Main – Rochard – Limoges France. This is so beautiful the pictures just don’t do it justice. 6.75 inches tall x 6.5 inches wide. The opening is 5.5 inches wide. Making it easy to store your tobacco products. This is one of the largest of Monroe’s Opal Glass boxes. This is a the puffy egg crate style design. Over 100 years old this beautiful Box is in excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs, no scratches. There is some age tarnishing on the brass collar as shown in the pictures. A bit of history, the CF Monroe Co. Was founded in 1880 in Meriden Connecticut. Hand-Painted enameled in pastel colored floral designs. This beautiful Opal covered cigar box has a ribbed brass collar and clasp, each corner has an ornate ormolu. The brass hinge on the back works smoothly. The front clasp and cover fit evenly and snug. The beautiful footed legs each have a Cherub type figurine adding to its beauty and detail. The inside of the top has a sponge compartment. Grasp the little knob and turn gently to remove it and place a sponge inside and return the lid. Keeping your cigars or tobacco products fresh.
