Delightful & rare antique Victorian era solid oak cigar presenter or tobacco box in the form of a dog house with bronze patinated dog figure and engraved & reticulated brass accenting! Isn’t this one fabulous! Not actually a humidor but it would fall into that category surely. The interior holds the original removable fixture that has a horizontal finished & brass tack accented wood panel at the top, pierced with circular holes where cigars are inserted vertically until desired. Attention to detail is amazing here, if you look closely you see that even the brass lock plate and hinges have engraved decoration. The exterior as charming as can be, a doghouse in solid carved oak with an aged patina. Brass tacks and those lovely reticulated brass accents with a subtle neo-gothic styling. The dog figure also wonderful, only partially protruding from the front door, leashed or chained to the old, original and working skeleton key. There is an old repaired break to the lock side overhang of the roof panel, very well done and hidden in the incised groove but you can still see that it’s there. Some signs of its age but, as you can see, beautifully preserved. Original hinges, lock and the old skeleton key. See pictures for all measurements.
