Up for sale is a rare antique 19th century handmade Folk/tramp Art wooden box. The box is made of a wooden base and finished with a lovely polychromed brown finish. It’s embellished with hand sculpted detailing throughout done with a very dimensional approach and features berries and flowers. The lid removes and it is signed underneath Nicks & Hoffman N. The box is in nice antique condition and measures. 5-1/2″h x 9″w x 5d. It is missing a couple small sculpted pieces as shown in all photos. Originally a writing slope, it has been re-purposed as cigar humidor and ceder wood lining has been added later to the interior. Original lock and key. There are two filters in the lid to regulate humidity, these will likely need new filters to function. Good large size and a good conversion. Monogram to the inlaid mother of pearl. Stunning Antique Victorian Black Cigar spice Humidor Box Silver Tin Lined Lock No Key. This humidor is beautiful. It has a raised Victorian womans face in the center of top with Victorian trim on the outer corners. Unfortunate, One corner is missing its trim. It has a very intricate lock plate on the front, but is missing its key. Back hinges are broken, one still has its original pin to hold it together. It has tin lining in lid and inside box. One corner of the tin is damaged. Wood box itself is in good condition. Not sure the the if raised trim pieces are silver or something else. This is a beautiful old piece that needs some love to make it shine again.
