See last 7 pics for: brass hinge being loose (pic #1), to the righf top side side I see like imperfections in wood where there might have been small branches (pic#7), to the back top left a small crack along a seem (pic #8), to the left side a tiny chip (pic#9) and a tiny chip to the very underside (pic #6). Beautiful used cigar box tobacco humidor with a plastic lined bottom and a galvanized metal. It measures 11 1/2″ long by 7 1/2″ deep by 4 1/4 tall. Weighs 4 lbs 9 oz. In excellent vintage condition. The upper wood exterior is nearly blemish-free. The bottom shows wear. Inside has a pleasant tobacco smell. The plastic bottom is intact. The metal lining on the top. William L Safire Walnut Cigar Box Presidential Medal of Freedom Winner & Author
This cigar box was William Lewis Safire’s personal walnut cigar box. Safire was a speechwriter for US President Richard Nixon, an American author, columnist for the New York Times. Winner of 2006 United States Presidential Medal of Freedom and Board Member of the Pulitzer Prize. This item was acquired at the estate sale of the late author. The cigar box is in good condition and was produced by Decatur Industries and is a solid walnut cigar humidor box with the Authors name engraved on a gold metal plate on top of the box. This cigar box was owned by one of Nixon’s key speechwriters who helped shaped the course of American history with his speechwriting. Vintage H. W. Longfellow Humidor Cigar Box Copper Dog Plaque 1930s Walnut
This is a Humidor or cigar box with the copper plaque of a dog “Sam” made by Henry W. Longfellow, a distant relative of the poet. It has a sticker that identifies it as’made by H. I’ve found these dated to the 1930s. It features a nice warm finish that is achieved over time. Made of walnut by Decatur Industries. Measures 8 by 11 inches, 3 inches deep. Weighs just under 3 pounds. In very good condition, with some light scratches and some stains, from cigars, on the inside. The item “Vintage H. W.
