Antique Victorian Walnut Table Top Cigar Box / Humidor Box with Lock & Key. And stylish antique Victorian walnut table top cigar box, which has lovely decorative detailing. Top has a lovely shaped edge and is finished to the top with lovely. Below this is a pair of doors centred which again have been adorned by. Fretted detailing and lovely shaped and decorative escutcheons. The doors are complete with a working lock and key. Y pretty turned columns. The doors open to reveal seven shelf which can be. Out and are section up. The base has a lovely carved edge to the front and sides and is raised on a bun feet. This would make a beautiful gift to any connoisseur of fine cigars or equally. It has a wealth of other storage uses. The approximate dimensions are: – 10 1/4 inches (26 cm) wide. 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm) deep. 10 inches (25.5 cm) high. As can be seen from the above dimensions this coffer is of lovely petite proportions. The cabinet is circa 1900. From the photographs you can see that this is an lovely piece of furniture and the condition of the piece is very good, just minor marks commensurate with age and careful use. Beautifully carved and very well preserved late 1800s to as late as 1915 cigar chest with lift-out tray to hold up to 40 cigars. Floral bouquet carved up top, and all-over adornments details. The original key still works the old lock. We’ve put up lots of photos from all angles, and measurements are noted on the photos. Very good to excellent condition, with a nod to an old repaired crack along one of the lines of perforated top panel of the interior cigar tray. It is strong and barely visible, but we want you to know it is there. A tip of one leaf of the bouquet cartouche is gone, as well (see images). The florals are really beautifully carved in a full relief, life-like. Lock engages and original key still attends it. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important! ANTIQUE BRASS & CEDAR CIGAR BOX/HUMODOR LOS ANGELES BY GRAMMES ALLENTOWN. THE BOX IS 26.5 cm x 8.5 cm x 19 cm. THE CEDAR LID INSIDE IS STAMPED’CALIFORNIA CLUB LOS ANGELES’. THE ENGRAVINGS AT THE SIDE ARE SIGNED’GRAMMES ALLENTOWN’. BRASS HUMIDOR / CIGAR BOXBY L. GRAMMES & SONS ALLENTOWN, PA. Vintage brass & wood tobacco humidor. The Cedar lined with Brass box has etched designs on the top & on three of the 4 sides (front, left & right sides). The interior and bottom is made of wood. The top etching depicts a Sir Walter Raleigh type fellow with a 17th century-style pipe. On either side of him, is a chair & hearth. The front etching shows a fireplace mantle decorated with a lock box, ale tankard, plate & 4 different types of pipes. The left and right sides are books & a smoking pipe. Grammes & Sons out of Allentown, PA began in 1875 and is known to have lasted almost a century. They made a wide variety of metal products as well as box-making saws & tools. Occasionally their boxes show up on the market. Grammes was born January 30, 1845 in Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh County, PA. Lewis established the company of L. Grammes & Sons in Allentown which employed many of the Allentown area residents until the late 1960’s. The company’s roots. Go back to 1875, when founder Lewis F. Grammes opened a machine shop in Allentown. The company manufactured a wide range of metal products over the years, from practical products, like hinges and drawer pulls, to artistic pieces, like cigarette boxes and bookends. It is mounted with a nickel-plated pivoting handle, a badge on the face, and a removable lid. The inside is lined with thick white porcelain bucket and also has a high gloss finish.
