Continental antique mechanical box. Birds-eye maple veneer with brass hardware. The inside fittings are leaves and vines of gold tone and black metal. The platform raises as you open the lid. We think this may be a humidor, cigarette holders on the sides with cigars in the middle, as the lining is metallic cloth. Brevete made all kinds of fitted boxes for everything you could think of so we are not sure. The brass tag says Brevete S. Measures 9 inches wide, 5 1/2 deep, and 3 3/4 inches high.
