TOP QUALITY ANTIQUE COROMANDEL WOOD DRESSING CASE VANITY CASE & JEWELLERY BOX by PARKINS & GOTTO of LONDON 11 3/4 inches (300mm) wide, by 8 1/2 inches (220mm) deep, by 5 inches (130mm) tall Coromandel wood throughout. Lid has “stand up” hinges (see photos), & mirror inside. Mirror has storage behind. Velvet lined, lift out tray, fitted with lidded compartments, (see photos). Good, antique condition with very light wear in keeping with its great age, but no damage. The hinges work as they should, and the lid opens and closes without issue. The hinged lid has “stand up” hinges (see photos), and the interior is lined with mahogany. This beautiful antique cigar box. Is in good, antique condition with light wear and small restorations in keeping with its great age, but no damage. The hinges work as they should, and the lid is a good fit, and opens and closes without issue. THE ENGRAVINGS AT THE SIDE ARE SIGNED’GRAMMES ALLENTOWN’. BRASS HUMIDOR / CIGAR BOXBY L. GRAMMES & SONS ALLENTOWN, PA. Vintage brass & wood tobacco humidor. The Cedar lined with Brass box has etched designs on the top & on three of the 4 sides (front, left & right sides). The interior and bottom is made of wood. The top etching depicts a Sir Walter Raleigh type fellow with a 17th century-style pipe. On either side of him, is a chair & hearth. The front etching shows a fireplace mantle decorated with a lock box, ale tankard, plate & 4 different types of pipes. The left and right sides are books & a smoking pipe. Grammes & Sons out of Allentown, PA began in 1875 and is known to have lasted almost a century. They made a wide variety of metal products as well as box-making saws & tools. Occasionally their boxes show up on the market. Grammes was born January 30, 1845 in Heidelberg Twp, Lehigh County, PA. Lewis established the company of L. Grammes & Sons in Allentown which employed many of the Allentown area residents until the late 1960’s. The company’s roots. Go back to 1875, when founder Lewis F. Grammes opened a machine shop in Allentown. The company manufactured a wide range of metal products over the years, from practical products, like hinges and drawer pulls, to artistic pieces, like cigarette boxes and bookends. RARE Rockwell Kent Brass Cigar Box, Art Deco Engraved Lady by A G Spaulding

1928 RARE Rockwell Kent Sally Art Deco Cigar Box. The outside of the box is brass and the inside is lined with wood. The image on the front is attributed ti Rockwell Kent, a famous artist, print maker and writer, 1882 1971. The image depicts Sally (Sally Kent Gorton) his wife and widow. The image was designed in 1928 for an A. Spalding & Brothers magazine advertisement. Epicts Sally (Sally Kent Gorton) his wife and widow. There are very few of this particular box available. Rockwell Kent had the image etched in the lids of some brass boxes and gave them out as gifts to friends and business associates. This particular box has been well cared for. The inside of the is clean and in very good condition. The brass on the outside has developed a nice patina and has other signs of normal age. The lid is also still very well attached with a good working hinge. It is about 2 5/8 inches by 5.5 inches by 7 1/8 inches. The box is marked A. The box measures approx 6 3/4 inches (175mm) wide, by 7 inches (180mm) deep, by 4 1/2 inches (115mm) tall, and is made from Coromandel wood with delicate brass inlay, and inset brass handles at either side. The hinged lid has “stand up” hinges (see photos), and the interior is lined with mahogany. This beautiful antique cigar box.
