Antique Victorian Oak Novelty Cigar Humidor Box C1870

Our main markets are Europe and North America and we export worldwide. Antique Victorian Oak Novelty Cigar Humidor Box C1870. This is a stylish antique Victorian. Novelty table top cigar box, Circa 1870 un date. The rectangular box is in a form of a safe, it features a panelled door with brass handle and central lock, opening to reveal two drawers with gothic revival handles to each. There is a further brass “campaign” handle on each side of the box, it is raised on a plinth base and has a working Secure lock with original key. The locking system bears the Victorian registration number RD 56159. It would make a beautiful gift to any connoisseur of fine cigars. In excellent condition, please see photos for confirmation. Rare Antique English Oak Novelty Carriage Cigar Box / Humidor Reg. 1904

Rarely found or even seen, this novelty Edwardian cigar box is beautifully executed in solid oak in the form of a horse drawn carriage. The sides are inlaid to emulate the panelling and door, the window made from the original mirrored glass. To either side there are polished brass door handles and removable carriage lamps. The example would have been used to roll down the centre of a large dinner table to serve after dinner cigars; the wheels all in perfect working order. The top of the carriage opens to reveal a cedar lined interior to keep the cigars fresh; often referred to as a humidor, that is in fact a modern invention, it is the cedar lining that did this job over 100 years ago. At the back of the carriage is a locked drawer with working key, which once opened reveals a match compartment, match strike and tray for spent matches and another smaller cedar lined compartment. The drawer is lucky enough to have been stamped with an English design registration number which allows us to date it accurately to 1904, Edwardian in era. THE HOUSE HAS WONDERFUL BRASS DECORATIONS T HERE IS A SHARP BRASS CIGAR CUTTER IN THE FORM OF A SMALL HOUSE WITH A STRIKER IN FRONT OF IT. HERE IS ALSO A VESTA POT AND AN ASHTRAY AND CHEROOT OR CIGARETTE STAND UP STORAGE PIPES TO EACH SIDE OF THE HOUSE. HIS IS A FINE AND.
