Up for sale is a very rare antique signed Dunhill porcelain and wooden tobacco humidor/jar. It’s made in a square box style format with 4 hand painted inlaid panels. The porcelain panels are done with a realistic approach and rich color depicting intricate bird scenes. It has a carved wooden spring loaded lid that turns to lock tightly into place when not being opened. When the lid is removed it exposes the metal lining that has some slight paint loss. It’s signed on the bottom by Dunhill and measures 7 1/4 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches long. In very nice used condition. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. Please make sure to look at all pictures very closely before purchasing, as most pieces in my shop are non refundable. Most items are antique or vintage and could have usual ware from age. 4 3/4″ X 4 1/4 X 5″ Tall, with the lid on. A great early piece of English Brown Stoneware. The box is sprigged with a pair of Dolphins on two sides and Venus rising from the sea on the other two. The handle on the lid is a resting Lion. There is no damage, cracks, chips, scratches, etc. The rim decoration appears to be a flowery wreath. The base is plain. No maker is indicated. This is a nice large old antique Mahogany wood, brass tin lined cigar, tobacco, cigarette smoking humidor case box. The item is marked by the maker: Benson & Hedges and it has initials engraved into a brass plaque on the top and it is dated for 1906 (see photos). The item is a large oversized humidor box (see photos). The item is made of yellow Brass metal, what looks to be Mahogany wood and a tin or metal interior liner (see photos). The item has a nice classical style (see photos). The item in total measures about 11 and 1/2 inches high, 1 foot 1 inch from the front to the back and it is about 1 foot 4 inches wide. The item has some , scratches, scuffs, tarnish, engraving and some signs of wear from age and use (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). This humidor has a wonderful hand hammered texture on copper with a splendid applied hand hammered decorative handle. The hand hammering is plentiful and wonderfully done. The patina is as found original condition and considered quite good. You can see some wear with the copper peeking through especially inside the box but the craftsman brown with black highlights brings the warmth to this piece. The handle is mounted to the top cover and is held in place with faceted rivets. On the underside cover you can see a strap that is also riveted. This is where the sponge with moisture was stored. This humidor is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks or major dents to the metal. There is a few indents in one side and one of the feet has some buckling but nothing too obtrusive. This is pictured and considered normal age wear. Some areas of patina are weaker than others but it is original as found. The inside shows more patina wear but this is a moot point because you cannot see this when the lid is on.
