Antique Wilhelm Schiller Terra Cotta Tobacco Box Greyhound Lid Face Match Holder

This is a wonderful antique 19th century painted terra cotta tobacco box made by Wilhelm Schiller & Son of Bavaria. It has been painted to resemble bronze, with lines of gold beading as accents. The top of the lid has a figural greyhound and the ends of the box have figural faces with crowns that were to hold matches. There are strikes below the heads. There are pipes and smoking paraphernalia in relief on both sides. The piece bears the WS&S mark on the bottom for Wilhelm Schiller & Son. It measures 6 1/2″ tall to the top of the greyhounds head, 7 3/4″ across and 4 3/4 deep. There are some chips that have been filled in to match the color around the inside edge and a filled in chip on one end above the face. Nothing noticeable at all. Overall it displays very well, with quite an impressive look. You will be pleased. Switzerland , Mid-1900’s, made of wood. Height : 5.5 in. Width : 8.5 in. Depth : 5.5 in. Great overall condition, with original key, for 24 cigars. My name is Greg, I’m a French guy who had business in Charlotte NC for 3 years. Unfortunately, I had to move back to France because of a slow activity. I fell in love with the US, particulary Charlotte! So now my only goal is to return to Charlotte, and for that I want to export French furnitures and antiques there! This idea came because of my love for wood and history. It is a great area to find valuable furnitures and smalls because of the proximity of wealthy ski resorts like Megève and Chamonix Mont-Blanc. It is also close to Geneva (switzerland), about 45minutes by car. The Geneva area is one of the richest in Europe due to finance and whatchmaking. Italy’s not to far as well, 40 minutes. So when you’re living and picking in this kind of environment, It is not rare to come across real pieces of art and history. Antique 1908 handmade wood tole sterling smoking pipe cigar holder stand box

Up for sale is a high quality antique 1908 wooden smoking pipe stand. It’s made by hand with elaborate detailing featuring hand tooled tole metal panels on the doors done in high relief. They have a lovely bronze handle and open on hinges exposing the interior. The lid has a sterling silver badge with hand engraved initials/dated and the lid locks the doors when it is shut. Inside has a section for 6 pipes and has three drawers with ornate gilt bronze handles. One of the drawers also has a carved bone inlaid name plate. It’s in great condition and measures 16 1/2 inches long by 12 inches tall by 8 1/2 inches wide.
